Frequently Asked Questions

Can temperature data indicate when equipment should be replaced?

Temperature history can reveal changes and recurring issues over time. If a fridge or freezer frequently fluctuates in temperature or takes longer to reach the correct temperature, it may indicate that the equipment should be inspected.

The readings do not replace a technical assessment, but they provide useful information when planning maintenance or considering replacement.

Can the solution support food safety routines and inspections?

Automated measurements give you an ongoing overview of temperatures in your fridges, freezers and cold rooms. This makes it easier to identify issues, reduce the risk of food waste and document temperature performance over time.

The records can also help demonstrate that your business follows systematic temperature-control and food-safety procedures, including as part of your IK-Mat routines and during inspections.

Can the solution cover multiple locations?

Yes. Temperature monitoring from several locations can be managed in the same solution. We normally recommend using at least one hub at each location. The sensors can be connected to the hub assigned to that site.

Do you help with installation and setup?

The sensors are configured before they are delivered. In most cases, you only need to connect the hub to a power supply and place the wireless sensors inside your fridges, freezers or cold rooms.

If you would like assistance with installation and setup, we can provide this service at an additional cost.

Where can I view the temperature readings in Runwell?

Sensor readings are available directly in Runwell. You can view them through the Control button and create custom widgets that provide a clear overview of your sensors.

If a sensor is not working as expected, a follow-up task can also be added to the team’s task list so that the issue is not overlooked.

Can we use the temperature sensors we already have?

Yes. Runwell supports sensors from a range of suppliers. If your current supplier is not listed, we can explore whether the equipment can be connected to Runwell through our open API.

What happens if the power or network connection is lost?

If measurements cannot be transmitted over the network, the information is stored locally until the connection is restored. You will also receive an alert if the system loses contact with a device.

Do the temperature sensors need Wi-Fi?

No. The solution uses the mobile network. You only need to connect the hub, also referred to as the gateway, to a power supply and make sure there is sufficient mobile coverage where it is installed.

The wireless sensors can then be placed inside the relevant fridges, freezers or cold rooms.

How often do the sensors measure the temperature?

The measurement interval depends on the sensor you choose. Available sensors record the temperature every 5 or 15 minutes.

How will I be notified about temperature issues?

Alerts can be sent by SMS, email and push notification. This helps ensure that the right people are informed quickly if temperatures move outside the selected limits or a sensor is not working as expected.
