Rally with Us in Washington D.C.!

We have an empowering weekend coming up the first weekend in October, starting with the 3rd annual FED UP! Rally in Washington, D.C. on October 3rd, followed by a national rally led by UNITE to Face Addiction on October 4th.

It’s going to be a great weekend, and we’d love for you to join us in our nation's capital to help us create awareness about the addiction epidemic in our country, that addiction is preventable, and share the message that people can and do recover from addiction.

Runwell first partnered with the FED UP! Rally in 2013, and we were moved by the experience. This event is led by the FED UP! Coalition, whose mission it is to create one voice calling for an end to the addiction epidemic and they work to find ways to reduce overdose deaths through education and awareness, and ensure people suffering from opioid addiction have access to affordable treatment. With thousands coming from across the country to support the cause, everyone affected in some way by addiction and devoted to finding ways to end it.

Runwell will have a booth at the event, and guests can expect a few engaging, fun activities from Runwell and our ambassadors throughout the event. It’s top secret for now, make sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for more information closer to the event. Just like last year, this event will take place at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C., calling for immediate federal action to end our nation’s opioid addiction and overdose. The rally begins at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4th, and will be preceded by learning opportunities and activities from partners like Runwell, live music, and a reflection pool.

The next day, on Sunday, October 4th, UNITE to Face Addiction will hold an event that will include a rally at the National Mall in D.C. UNITE to Face Addiction is a grassroots advocacy initiative that works to bring together people, communities and organizations to find solutions to addiction across a wide spectrum and bringing awareness to their message that “addiction is preventable and treatable, that far too many of those affected have been incarcerated, and that people can and do get well.” Featured in UNITE to Face Addiction’s Stories of Purpose, Runwell Founder Linda Quirk is passionate about finding ways to change the conversation about addiction and is excited and honored to be part of the event and weekend.

If you’re thinking about attending, let’s hang out! Let us know you plan on joining us, we’d love to have you!

Each year, individuals join Runwell for athletic events throughout the country to raise money for  addiction treatment grants that go to qualified treatment facilities. We’re thrilled to share our voice with these great organizations; together we can change the perception of addiction, and we work to provide opportunities for individuals to accomplish endeavors beyond their perceived limits.
